Periodontist prevention
The formation of periodontal pockets due to poor oral hygiene promotes the proliferation of bacteria that are particularly harmful to human health.
To prevent periodontal diseases or treat existing periodontitis, rely on the experts at the Versilia Dental Institute: the periodontist will conduct a thorough periodontal examination and determine the most suitable therapy for your needs, whether it be treatment or prevention. With a detailed analysis of periodontal status, we can perform periodic screenings of your gum health, recording the results in a database and maintaining a follow-up programme. The key diagnostic tool is the periodontal probe, used to assess the presence and severity of periodontitis.
Following this, periodic visits to the dental hygienist will be necessary. By performing proper teeth cleaning, the hygienist will help maintain the results of periodontal therapy and, in collaboration with the periodontist, prevent recurrences.
Teeth whitening
Do you dislike the colour of your teeth?
Have you always wanted a Hollywood smile?
Over time, teeth tend to discolour, becoming yellowed. However, this can be reversed, and we can restore your teeth to their natural colour. The Versilia Dental Institute offers two whitening methods: one to be done at home and one in the clinic (though we recommend the home method):
1. Home Method: Apply custom-made trays with whitening gel overnight for 1 to 2 weeks.
2. Clinic Method: After proper isolation, apply the whitening gel for 15 minutes, repeating the process 2 to 4 times.
Once the desired colour is achieved, you will need to follow maintenance precautions, which will be explained by our hygienists.
Note that a good whitening effect will not last forever!
Curiosity: "I had a root canal treatment and now my tooth has darkened: what should I do?"
Don't worry, we have a solution for this colour change that you might not find aesthetically pleasing!
With internal tooth whitening, we can recover the natural colour of your tooth. For specific cases, composite or porcelain veneers may be an option.
The dietary diary
The onset of cavities is multifactorial, and diet is one of the contributing factors. Knowing what you eat and whether these foods might harm your teeth is crucial for cavity prevention. At our institute, thanks to the meticulous work of our hygienists, this is achievable. Under the hygienist’s guidance, download your dietary diary, where you will find dietary advice (for both children and adults). Once completed, the hygienist will review it under their supervision.
